History

Tayo was a pupil at Christ's Hospital School in Horsham and later attended Goldsmiths, University of London, where he studied English and Drama. It was during his time at Goldsmiths that he was instrumental in creating the seminal Nu skool breaks night Friction at Bar Rhumba, along with fellow Breakbeat DJ's Rennie Pilgrem and Adam Freeland.

After releasing his first Y4K compilation in 2000 [1] his reputation gained an international focus. In 2001 he formed Mob Records, who released music by The Stanton Warriors, Meat Katie and Kevin Beber amongst others.

Tayo left Mob Records in 2004 and he ran the Kiss100 Breakbeat Show for five years. He then got DJ work at Radio 1 and he moved to the station in 2006 to co-host "In New DJs We Trust" show.[2]

Tayo has worked with a number of artists including Acid Rockers, Freq Nasty, Care In The Community, Baobinga, Control Z and Sunz Of Mecha.[3] He has also released a number of tracks for labels such as Skint Records, Fat, Mantra Breaks, Functional Breaks, Bassrock and Passenger as well as engaging in remix work for artists such as Jaydee and Dave Clark.[4]

From 2004 onwards, Tayo has been a resident DJ at many major clubs and venues throughout the UK, including Fabric, The End and Ministry of Sound.[5]

Tayo is an Arsenal and part-time Crystal Palace supporter, and a regular co-host of "The Tuesday Club" podcast alongside comedians Alan Davies, Keith Dover and Ian Stone.

Tayo also presented "The Armchair World Cup" for BBC 5live in 2010 and made his debut on "Fighting Talk" in February 2011.

In February 2011, Tayo set up "PrettyFresh", a music and events division of PR Agency PrettyGreen, based in Clerkenwell, London.

He is a supporter of the Labour Party UK.
